Novas faces do terrorismo: estudioso norte-americano Alfred Gerteiny (foto) denuncia que projeto pró-sionista de extrema direita existe deste 2000A administração de George W. Bush aproveitou o clima de patriotismo resultante do ataque de 11 de setembro para desencadear plano estratégico pró-sionista de extrema direita, elaborado em 2000 e denominado The Project For The Twenty-First Century (O projeto para o século 21), que visa impor dominação de Israel e dos EUA no Oriente Médio e garantir definitivamente a segurança do Estado judáico.
A denúncia está no livro do Alfred Gerteiny "The Terrorist Conjunction, The United States, The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict and Al-Qa"ida", ( A conjunção terrorista: os Estados Unidos, o conflito Israel-Palestina e a Al Qaeda), lançado há um ano, no qual o autor não poupa a administração Bush.
Com a autoridade que lhe conferem os muitos títulos acadêmicos e sua formação profissional – PhD tanto em Paris quanto em Nova York, além de colaborar para enciclopédias como a Britânica e a Americana, e receber várias bolsas, entre elas a prestigiosa Sênior Research Fullbright Fellowship – , Gerteiny diz que Bush foi manipulado por sua eminência parda, Dick Cheney, o vice-presidente da dos EUA.
"Acho difícil não se perguntar se a arrogante e agressiva política que tem caracterizado o governo Bush e desgraçado a América não é máscara vulgar para esconder sua ignorância e sua incompetência. A administração Bush negligenciou as necessidades dos norte-americanos em praticamente todos os campos, exacerbou o problema do aquecimento global, sacrificou em vão a juventude norte-americana, semeando o caos no Iraque, Afeganistão e Paquistão; também esnobou o acordo da Justiça internacional recusando reconhecer a competência do Tribunal Penal Internacional", afirma o estudioso.
Gerteiny esteve no Brasil e foi entrevistado, no Rio de Janeiro, pela repórter Márcia Erthal, do Jornal do Commércio.

Violência e terrorismo
A violência está ao nosso redor, em todo lugar, a gente convive com ela, seja no Rio, Londres ou Nova York.Terrorismo é expressão particular da violência; é praticada desde os primórdios dos tempos da História, especialmente pelas elites representadas pelo Estado. Foi por causa da proporção que o terrorismo assumiu no século 20 que eu, professor de Relações Internacionais especializado em Oriente Médio, passei mais de cinco décadas a prestar particular atenção a este fenômeno, à sua natureza, à sua utilização e qual é o fator seminal que ele esconde.
Esta é a razão do meu livro.
No primeiro capítulo, analiso a violência de duas maneiras: uma com a arma usada pelo poderoso, neste caso, o Estado, e a outra pelos menos poderosos e os menos favorecidos contra esta violência.
Neste contexto, e apesar da inabilidade da Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU) em concordar sobre definição universal de terrorismo, propus a minha, pessoal: terrorismo, para mim, é o uso da violência extrema e indiscriminada contra populações civis visando a objetivos políticos; em outras palavras, é realizar objetivo estratégico através de punição coletiva.
Violence is all around us, it is ubiquitous, we live with it, whether in Rio, London or in New York. Terrorism is a particular expression of violence; it has been practiced since the dawn of history, mostly by the power elites represented by the state. With the advent of nationalism the downtroden too have used this type of violence for political end.
Because of the particular place terrorism holds in the twentieth century, as a professor of international relations specializing on the Middle east, I have over the past 5 decades payed particular attention to that phenomenon, its nature, its uses and to the seminal factors behind it. Thus my latest book, The Terrorist Conjunction, the United States, the Israeli-Paletinian Conflict and al-Qa’ida.
In its first chapters, the book analyzes violence both as a weapon used by the powerful, in this case, the state, and by the powerless and the downtrodden against it.
In this context, and despite the inability of the United Nations to agree on a universal definition of terrorism, I have proposed my own: Terrorism, to me, is the use of extreme and indiscriminate violence against civilian populations as means toward a particular political end; in other words, it is achieving a strategic objective through what may be called collective punishment – a violence condemned by the civilized world in various international conventions. And because war is undoubtedly the most generally terrifying use of violence for political ends, I consider war as the paragon of terorism. Ultimately, I have looked more particularly at contemporary anti-Western terrorism emanating from the al-Qa’ida gang.
Terrorismo contra terrorismo
Não estou interessado em terrorismo anti-social, sou incompetente no assunto.
Minha preocupação e expertise são com o terrorismo político, isto é, o terrorismo conduzido ou comandado por governo ou contra governo e, mais particularmente, pelos oprimidos e pelos que estão sob ocupação militar contra seus ocupantes.
Apesar de estarmos lidando com niilistas e anarquistas sem objetivos, a violência política contra governos é normalmente a última resposta de repressão de longa data.
Tal fato é aterrorizante para o povo subjugado e, de acordo com especialistas psiquiátricos como Chaim Chatan, levam as pessoas à morte psíquica, o que poderia, em outros termos, ser considerado genocídio psíquico.
Desumanizado e transformado em sem-terra improdutivo, dependente, inútil e sem pátria na sua própria pátria, o indivíduo que não tem mais nada a perder responde com o que Jean-Paul Sartre chamou la rage folle ou a raiva enlouquecida.
Visto que a causa desta ocupação é injusta, é razoável ver no ocupante também o terrorista.
Este raciocínio é naturalmente controvertido, mas indubitavelmente deve ser considerado como tal sem tergiversação.
I am not interested in anti-social terrorism, and I am incompetent in the matter; my concern and expertise is with political terrorism; that is terrorism carried out either by a government, or against a government and more particularly by the opressed and by those under military occupation. Unless we are dealing with aimless Nihilists and Anarchists, political violence against a government is ordinarily carried out as a last resort in response to longstanding oppression, occupation and injustice, particularly when an occupying power refuse to negotiate with a subject people.Indefinite foreign military occupation accompanied by injustice, maltreatment, discrimination, dispossession, humiliation and other measures violating social and political freedom is terrorizing to a subject people; it dehumanizes and, according to such specialized psychiatrists as Chaim Chatan, turns one into a “psychid dead;” as such it amounts to what may be termed as “psycho-genocide.”
Dehumanized, dispossessed, humiliated and rendered dependent, this worthless stateless person in his own denied country, an individual with nothing to lose strikes back with what Jean Paul Sartre called “insane rage.” It is this insane rage that is often murderous to the innocent civilian population of the occupier that rightly constites terrorism as we perceive it. It is illegal and unacceptable, but understandable by reasonable people. Because the unjust occupation causes it, it is equally reasonable to conceide the occupier as a contributory terrorist as well. This reasoning is of course controversial, but nevertheless indubitable and must be stated bluntly.
Guerra imperialista
O ataque da Al Qaeda sobre Nova York e Washington afetou o psiquismo do norte-americano e desencadeou louca crise de Jingoísmo midiático que exacerbou nacionalismo irracional desmedido. Esse comportamento autorizou o governo norte-americano a iniciar guerra contra a Al Qaeda e os talibãs no Afeganistão, e a utilizar este infame acontecimento como subterfúgio para empreender imperialista estratégia visando a impor domínio israel-americano sobre a totalidade do Oriente Médio.
Esta estratégia é real e é claramente definida em projeto publicado em 2000 por um think-tank pró-sionista de extrema-direita: O Projeto Para o Século 21 (The Project For The Twenty-First Century). Bush e seus conselheiros usaram o incidente de 11 de setembro para desencadear o tal projeto alegando que Saddam Hussein possuía armas de destruição maciça e que representava ameaça aos Estados Unidos e ao mundo.
The perfidious September 11 attack of al-Qa’ida on New York and Washington has profoundly affected America’s psyche and unleashed jingoistic media frenzy that exacerbated unreasonable nationalism and allowed the US government to not only legitimately strike back at al-Qa’ida and the Taliban in Afghanistan, but to use the infamous event to carry out a long standing imperialist strategy to impose a US-Israeli condominion over the Middle East. This strategy is real, it is clearly defined in a blueprint published in the year 2000, by a right-wing pro-Zionist think-tank, “The Project for the 21st Century,” even before George W Bush took office as president. Bush and his handler simply used the September 11 incident to carry it out, claiming that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of Mass Destruction and that he posed a threat to the US and the world. It saddens me to say this about my own country, but facts have emerged in the past 3 years that confirm the hidden motive for this disastrous military adventurism.
Jihad
Em resumo, o Jihad é a versão muçulmana da Cruzada. Isto quer dizer muitas coisas para muita gente e é sujeito a varias interpretações e manipulações. Como era o caso das cruzadas, o JIHAD é um empreendimento missionário visando converter pessoas. Agora, as diversas cruzadas empreendidas durante a Idade Média, apesar de bem intencionadas ou imperialistas foram todas agressivas e violentas. Finalmente fracassaram.
Hoje, muitos séculos depois, o Jihad é dirigido pacificamente por organizações muçulmanas moderadas e ilegalmente e violentamente por organizações extremistas tal como Al Qaeda e seus clones. Alias, não há nada de sinistro no Islã.
Esta religião é simplesmente, na minha interpretação um repensar e uma redefinição inadequada do judaísmo. Mas, tal qual, tanto a violência como o terror acompanharam o estabelecimento do Estado Judeu na Palestina; os palestinos deserdados por esta tragédia utilizam os mesmos recursos e táticas para recuperar o direito e a liberdade.
Al Qaeda e seus clones, organizações estranhas à Palestina e aos palestinos, usam a desgraça dos palestinos e se inspiram nela para cometer e impetrar atividades criminais no Ocidente. Estes agentes são extremistas ou muçulmanos que sofreram lavagem cerebral, e parecem acreditar piamente que uma cruzada judeo-cristã esta em curso dirigida pelos Estados Unidos e da qual Israel é a ponta de lança cujo objetivo é destruir o Islã.
É claro que minha teoria esta baseada sobre a minha convicção que o problema palestino é seminal ao surgimento de um terrorismo transnacional. Este terrorismo só poderá ser desfeito, quando uma justa solução do problema palestino for decidida pela Comunidade das Nações. É portanto imperativo resolver o problema o mais rapidamente possível.
Briefly, the Jihad is the Muslim version of a Crusade. It means many things to many people and is subject to interpretions and manipulation. And as for the crusade, the jihade is a misionnary enterprise seeking to gain converts. Now, t the various crusades carried out during the middle ages, whether well meaning or imperialistic have all been offensive and violent; today, several centuries later, the jihad is carried out peaceably by moderate Muslim organizations, and illegally and violently by such extremist organizations as a-Qa’ida and its clones.
In fact, there is nothing sinister about Islam the religion; it is simply as a rethinking or restatement of Judaism. But just as violence and terror accompanied the establisnment of a Jewish state by mostly European and American Jews in Palestine, so are disinherited Palestinians using similar illegal tactics to regain freedom and possessions.Al-Qa’ida and its clones, though foreign to Palestine and Palestinians use the plight of the Palestinians, or are inspired by it to carry their criminal activities against the west.
Their agents are extremist and misguided Muslims who seem to believe that a Judeo-Christian Crusade carried out by the US has already established a beach-head in Palestine on its way to destroying Islam. Clearely, my thesis rests on the assumption that the Palestinian Problem is seminal to the rise and spread of transnational terrorism. This terrorism will remain undefeated so long as a just solution to this problem evades the community of nations. It therefore behoves us to achieve that objective as soon as possible.
Repercussão do livro nos EUA
Meu livro foi publicado pela mais respeitada editora internacional na área de segurança, a Praeger Security International, e tem recebido, por causa de sua honestidade, os aplausos de especialistas acadêmicos, apesar de receber, por parte da extrema direita e do partido pró-sionista, demonstrações pouco confortáveis, mas isto faz parte do jogo.
My book was published by a most respected publisher in the field of national andinternational security and received, because of its candor, the accolade of academic specialists, though right-wing parties and pro-zionist organizations have been uncomfortable, or openly critical of it, but this is parr to the course.
Era Bush
Considerando a subordinação quase escrava dos interesses geoestratégicos dos Estados Unidos aos interesses israelenses relativos à segurança, a timidez da Europa e a incompetência e a corrupção dos líderes árabes na sua dependência ao apoio americano, o terrorismo de inspiração nacionalista localizado no Oriente Médio transcendeu o seu confinamento geográfico e adquiriu vocação islamita transnacional. Como já foi comentado por especialistas, este alcance assassino do terrorismo afeta agora não somente os Estados Unidos, o Reino Unido e a Espanha no Ocidente, mas outras áreas do globo.
Não é correto atribuir todo o ônus dessa expansão do terrorismo a Bush, mas seria impossível e inconsciente não reconhecer que a sua administração nunca esteve à altura da administração do seu pai.

Given the obvioulsly slavish subordination of US geostrategic interest to those concerned with the security of Israel, the timidity of Europe and the incompetence and corruption of Arab leaders and their dependence on US support, Middle East-based, nationalist-inspired terrorism has trenscended its habitual geographic confines and acquired a transnational vocation.
As anticipated by objective specialists its murderous reach has now affected not only the US, the UK and Spain in the West , but other areas of the globe as well. We cannot therefore place all the blame for this development on George W. Bush. But one would have to be a moron not to recognize that the younger Bush Administration has not measured up to that of his father.It has neglected the needs of the Americans in practically all fields, exacerbated the problem of global warming, unwittingly contributed to violence, terror and war, needlessly made of its valiant youth cannon flesh, sowed chaos in Iraq and Pakistan, flaunted international justice by refusing to recognize the competency of the War Crime tribunal, contravened to international law in its treatment of prisonners of war and its rejection of the international agreement on the banning of cluster bombs, etc. etc. Briefly, though a cleaver politician George W Bush has been effectively manipulated by his Eminence Grise, Dick Cheney, and only served as our national “cheer leader.” I find it difficult not to wonder, therefore, if the arrogance and aggressive policies that characterized his presidency and disgraced America were not an unfortunate mask for ignorance and incompetence.
Barack Obama
Estou antecipando com deleite a derrota do Partido Republicano e espero que Barack Obama mostre-se mais politicamente judicioso e menos ideológico como presidente.
Well, I am anticipating with great delight the demise of the Republican party and hope that Barack H. Obama will prove a wiser and less ideological President.
